Scientific Group of Teenagers
(KIR)
A. UNDERSTANDING
Scientific Group of Youth (KIR) are a group of teenagers who carried out a series of activities that produce an outcome that is called scientific work. Scientific work itself has a meaning as a work that is produced through a mode of thinking which, according to the rules of logical reasoning, systematic, rational and there is coherence between the parts. As an extracurricular activity at the level of junior high, high school, vocational school, Madrasah even a Boarding School, Youth Scientific Group (KIR), this is an organization that are open to teenagers who want to develop creativity, science and technology in the present and future.
B. Formation HISTORY IN INDONESIA
Scientific Group of Youth (KIR) or the Youth Science Club (Ysc), originally set for teenagers aged around 12-18 years by UNESCO in 1963, but in 1970 the age limit changed to 12-21 years. Youth Science Club (Ysc) in Indonesia known as the Scientific Group of Youth (KIR), which formed at the initiative of Indonesia's own youth. Beginning in 1969, the newspaper Daily News Yudha form Yudha Youth Club (RYC). Furthermore, after facilitated by LIPI and experience a variety of developments, Yudha Youth Club transformed into the Scientific Group of Youth (KIR).
C. PURPOSE
Objectives to be achieved by individual members of the KIR is the development of scientific attitude, honesty in solving natural phenomena that are encountered with high sensitivity using a systematic, objective, rational and berprosedur so that we will get the competence to develop themselves in life.
D. BENEFITS
Scientific Group of Youth (KIR), which was developed at the school has many benefits for students, teachers pembibing as well as for schools, among others, as follows.
1 .---------- Scientific Group Benefits Youth (KIR) for students is
a. Arouse the curiosity of the natural phenomenon related to science and technology;
b. Increasing the power of reason to the phenomenon-a natural phenomenon;
c. Improve data creation and creative power and critical power;
d. Adding insight to the science and technology;
e. Improving the skills to master science and technology;
f. Increasing interest in reading on the science and technology;
g. Expanding horizons of communication through the experience discussion, debate and scientific presentations;
h. Know the ways to organize;
i. As a vehicle to forge maturity attitude
and personality;
j. Knowing the properties of the scientific, honest, optimistic, open, courageous, tolerant, creative, critical, and skeptical;
k. As a test event performance and prestige;
l. Opening the opportunity to get a priority to continue their schooling to pursue higher degrees.
2 .---------- Scientific Group Benefits Youth (KIR) for the supervising teacher is
a. Adding insight knowledge widely;
b. Adding skill to guide scientific group adolescents;
c. Increasing curiosity towards science and technology;
d. Increasing interest in reading on the science and technology;
e. Adding knowledge to support teaching and learning activities at school;
f. Getting to know the attitudes and personal development of students' personal-depth;
g. Improving the standard of living.

a. Providing added value and competitive advantage for the school values;
b. Add skills in managing and developing a school;
c. Expanding cooperative relations with other agencies; improve the situation and school conditions conducive to learning;
d. Adding the function of high school / middle as the development of research / study.
